I remember once putting little dog shoes on my Aunt's dog because she didn't like the snow. SHe ended up walking around the house with every foot lookin like a giant wind mill. My puppy, the one on the bottom of my last post, Has a bad hot spot- so we've been taping a sock to his foot to keep him from licking it. And I just can't help thinking of those shoes.
By the way Disney world was amazing! We only went to Magic and Animal Kingdom, and we din't see everything but we saw the highlights. Expedition Everest, the scariest and fastest one in Disney World, had a 40 minute wait but it was worth it. Before going to Magic Kingdom this guy we met at our hotel said they used to have a real yeti, but now it's just a shadow. I WISH THEY HAD HAD THE REAL ONE! But still it was fun. We saw like 50 parades at each of the places, especially Magic Kingdom. And of course I got pictures and princess souveniers for Sunny (read one of my previous posts), who is obsessed with Belle and Tiana- and all the others- but mostly these two. In Magic Kingdom we did Pirates of the Carribean, in Adventureland, which actually isn't scary- In Fronteirland we did Big Thung and Splash Mountain- both one of my favorites- and Tom Sawers Island as well as the Haunted Manshion. The wait for that was unbelievable! Then in Fantasy land we did It's a small world and In Tommorrow Land we did the race track, the Astro Orbiter and Space Mountain also Stich's great escape which I wouldn't reccomend (all you do is watch and get spit on). In animal Kingdom we didn't do the river rapids or the Safari, but we were still new to the Disney waits since we did Animal Kingdom right after we got off the plane. But we did do DYNOSAUR which- although it could give someone a stroke with flashing light and loud noises, and could potentially give you whiplash- was a fun ride. I honestly loved the hotel cause it had a heated pool and we had a view of the pool and downtown Disney. I can't wait to go back and do That over again as well as Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Of course we ended our day at Magic Kingdom with the Fireworks- and I also want to do Universal and see what that's like.
Anyway after that we went to Sanibel Island. It's a shelling Island off the coast of Florida on the West. The hotel had beach access- and the beach had access to literally hundres of shells- some with live things still in them. We had fun in the surf and we rented bikes to ride around. Most people on the Island go on bikes because there are bike paths on most every road. We had a kitchen in our room which was nice because we could cook and then eat dinner watchong NCIS or House- which are my new two favorite shows along with bones. Anyway we went to this one really great restaraunt on the first night called the Corner Grill- it had easy beach access and excellent food and atmosphere(I HIGHLY reccomend it). On the last day we rented Kyaks and went throught the mangroves to see wildlife in the JN DING DARLING WILDLIFE REFUGE, where we had gone biking the previous night. Unfortunately, during my whole trip to Florida, I only saw two baby Alligators, but I thougt I saw ones head while we were biking. So did my dad so we both stopped and then a few secong later we heard a big splash like something big was getting into the water. Also on the last day we went to Pinnochio's Ice Cream- it was really good. We found a dead crab, and a crab claw (which my dogs just chewed up because of crab meat), we got attacked by nasty little flies that swarm and bite the heck out of you and on the last night the tide was super low and we walked out to a sand bar and looked out a bunch of live things in shells, like conches, hermit crabs, clam like things oozing out of the shell. Then i picked up a shell, expecting a crab but insted this little leggy thing jumped and tried to attack my hand, so naturally I ran ,screaming, all the way back to the beach. And at one point, I had picked up this beautiful shell and my Dad put it in his pocket (this was shortly after we tried picking up one with our feet, but it was "spiky" and it hurt, then my Dad finally got it and we realized it had a crab on top of it) but back to the point, we found the shell in his pocket was still occupied- with a crab- we're just lucky it din't pinch him.
Over all it was a fun Spring Break!
